Drivers Bio

Driver: Rick Barretta

Rick was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. He has been a Business Owner for 35 years, as an Auto Body Professional by trade, owning and operating Barretta's Auto Body. In 2009 selling his business and retiring, allows him to dedicate his time to his true passion, as a IHBA Drag Boat Racing Champion.

Rick Started racing in 1993 at Lake Mendicino. His first race boat was a Sanger Hydro Boat, with a Blown, Hemi 392 motor, high performance pistons, an Isky Cam. Every year advancing and reaching speeds of 100+. In 1999 get an offical time ticket in Red Bluff California at the IHBA Drag Boat Races, quailify fast enough to be licensed to race.

The people involved in the IHBA made him feel very welcome, showing him the ropes, and welcomed Rick Barretta into their "family". We they all share a passion for drag boat racing.

He won his first event in 2000. He continued to win races, until he won the World Championship in 2008, also winning the overall High Points Champion in 2008.. 

Rick's nickname on the racing circuit is "The Torch" He got this nickname because his engine is burning down the house.

Rick now is not just the "Torch" but is a dark horse going into the "Spotlight" or is in the Spotlight.

He is now racing for Spotlightbiz.com and is representing a mission to give back to America, in helping America save money, and putting businesses into the Spotlight!
